My music is folk/ballad with a Paul McCartney/Paul Simon lyrical quality (not my own description but I can see it).
Most of my songs are taken directly from Scriptural text, some are stories, some are Psalms. There is a strong emphasis upon the land and people of Israel.
I have one 22 song presentation that combines traditional Hebrew liturgy with the English lyrics so that an audience can grasp the fundamentals of Hebraic worship that our Messiah and the writers of the Bible would expected in their Temple and synagogue experiences.
What we see so much of in Christian music and the "worship experience" is a focus upon our own emotional response to the music and a desire to be entertained, thinking that their own gratification is the same as stepping into the presence of the Most Holy One. There's nothing that can bring someone to that place other than a sincere commitment to be drawn to Him; but my music asks the question and offers the invitation to something more.
