Marketplace Women Achieving Financial and Spiritual Success

God is raising up marketplace women to succeed in business. These godly women have been set aside to not only have an impact financially, but also spiritually, being a beacon of light shining Christ's love. These are women who are using their profits from their work at home businesses or their positions of influence in the market world.

After spending over 15 years working outside the home and now as a stay at home mom entrepreneur, I can understand the challenges and conflicts that can come when a Christian working woman desires to be successful, while balancing faith and family.

I can appreciate the heart of a woman who has that burning desire to help her family's financial condition improve with her God given gifts. I can relate to a stay at home mom who is not afraid to stretch herself, to gain in her own personal development and skills, so as to enable her be a successful Christian businesswoman.

She's not sitting on the coach eating bon bon's and watching Oprah every afternoon. She's a woman who's willing to roll up her sleeves mentally, to learn new skills that will not only help her family's financial situation, but also to finance her specific dream of serving others with her God given destiny.

If you are looking for some inspirational examples of marketplace women who pursue their God given vision through the peaks and valleys, check out the women in the Bible! Here we can find women doing all kinds of work, some even thought of as man's work. They were Christian women in business for their age!! For example, in the Book of Ruth we find women gleaning in the fields. In book of Judges, we find women who are judges (Deborah).

Then there is the ultimate Christian businesswoman and mom: 'The Proverbs 31'- woman. "She gets up while it is still dark and she provides food for her family.... She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.....She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night....She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes..." (Proverbs 31:15-16;18;24)

Now that is one incredible marketplace woman!

You could continue in the New Testament and see women who are business executives, such as Lydia (Acts 16), who runs a purple cloth business. The Bible definitely gives us some great examples of marketplace women!

I've had many great examples through the years with my work in Christian radio and now as a mom working at home. When I was working in radio, I was blessed to hear every morning at 6:45 The Christian Working Woman with Mary Welchel. Mary, with her cheery voice and godly wisdom, has had this powerful radio program for over 24 years encouraging moms working at home and Christian marketplace women. She gives practical advice on everything from dealing with a critical boss to handling gossip at work. Her program was always one of our listener's favorites for women, and yes, even the men!



Another great example among marketplace women is Dani Johnson, author, speaker, trainer and founder of Call to Freedom International. Dani went from living out of car with $2.03 to her name to earning her first million in two short years using the skills she learned from a successful businessman.

I have personally been on the receiving end of her teaching/coaching from marketing and profit strategies to leadership development. Her passion is helping people break through barriers that stop them from experiencing true freedom emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and financially.
