Your Vision In The Midst Of Giants In The Land

So how's your vision? Is your passion in life connected with the destiny you know God has called you to?

A poet once wrote: "Beware of those who stand aloof, and greet each venture with reproof. The world would stop if things were run, by those who say, 'It can't be done.'"

Often your vision is what gives you the spark in your life and the ability to press on even when those around have their negative say concerning it.

"Where there is no vision, the people perish." (Prov 29:18)

Your dream for your destiny can be your lifeline amidst the giants...death, taxes, divorce, debt....in the land.

A God given vision is birthed out of faith. Faith comes by hearing the Word. So the power to your vision lies in activating the Word of God, with prayer as the sustaining power to bring it all into reality.

Be at peace. If God has called you to fulfill a vision He's given, He'll more than enable you to walk there by His grace and power. Dig in. Believe. Walk. Obey. Surrender.

I read recently, "It's not about what you can do, but what God can do with your life when it's fully surrendered to Him. It encompasses things outside the realm of the predictable, the safe, and the expected."

So what do you DO while you wait for the provision for your vision?, or the open door to serve the poor, or the record label to call so you can sing......????

Better yet, how do you walk amidst attacks from every side that wants to squeeze the life out of you and your vision?

Simply put, you walk and SPEAK faith. Not faith in faith, but faith in the Word of God.

Then your words--connected by the Word of God--become the seeds to your future, to your vision.

For instance, take the battle of David and Goliath. That huge ugly giant told little David that basically he was going to make mince meat out of him. He spoke ugly negative words that would set anyone back. (The power of life and death is in the tongue, as it says in Proverbs.>

"He said to David, 'Am I a dog, that you come at me with sticks?' And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. 'Come here,' he said, 'and I'll give your flesh to the birds of the air and the beasts of the field!'"

Goliath spewed words of death and destruction. Whoever said "stick and stones may hurt your bones, but words will never hurt you...", is totally disillusioned about the reality of the power of the tongue

Notice how David responded and WHOSE Word he stood by:

"You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the LORD Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves; for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give all of you into our hands."

I believe this is a powerful example of how to act when the enemy comes to you, looking like a big ugly giant, threatening to kill your vision. It may come in the form of a family crisis, a financial disaster, or a disease trying to attack your body.

You speak the Word of God to that enemy, no matter how big it may appear. You don't deny it's existence. You simply speak the Word.

One word spoken by the Lord in a moment can cancel years of the wrong things spoken by the enemy.

In the past year I have faced a fiery trial, literally and figuratively. The magazine pictured to the side here is an open page with a thick black film of fire soot all over it. Ironically enough, the title of the article is "Dignify Your Trials".

This page was left by me laying open by my bedside table the day we came back from vacation to a home that was set on fire. The details of the loss, the accusations from the insurance company, and all the other devastating things that come from a major loss has been painful to say the least.

But through it all, God's Word of hope and restoration remains!

Because of my God given vision that He has placed in my heart, I can rise every morning with hope, peace and joy. Each day is a gift from God.

I can get up early each morning, spend time in His Word, and go about my day determined to follow through with this destiny He has placed before me involving serving my family, serving the ministry marketing field, finding ways to provide for my family through teaching and marketing.....

You can too. God will make it possible for you!

So find the words you need to face your Goliath.

Words like these that speak life and remind you of God's promises:

"The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble"(Psalm 9:9)

"..blessed is the man who who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in His commands. His children will be mighty in the land; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches are in his house, and his righteousness endures forever." Psalm 112:1-3

"For I am The Lord Who healeth thee...."

"For by His stripes we were healed..."

You have God's Word to speak so you can see your vision come to pass!

"For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay."(Habakkuk 2:3)
